Weaving experience into meaning through thoughtful therapy & assessment.
Dr. Megan Lawson is a board-certified clinical psychologist — a distinction held by fewer than 5% of practitioners nationally. She trained at The University of Texas at Austin and Pepperdine University, and her work draws from relational and depth psychology, family systems, and interpersonal neurobiology. She is less interested in solving you than in understanding you and helping you to make meaningful change in your life. Dr. Lawson believes that the things bringing people to therapy — anxiety, relationship strain, grief, perfectionism, neurodivergence, the sense that something is off — are rarely just problems to be fixed. They are patterns with history, meaning, and often, something worth listening to. She works with people navigating complexity: high-pressure careers, major transitions, long-standing relational dynamics, developmental trauma, and the particular weight of lives that look fine from the outside. She brings warmth, rigor, and genuine curiosity to every person she works with. Dr. Lawson has served as the President of the Society of Psychoanalytic Studies San Antonio, is a board member of the San Antonio Group Psychotherapy Society, and is an active member of the American Psychological Association.
This practice is private pay and does not bill insurance. That means your care is not documented in insurance systems, your records remain between you and Dr. Lawson, and your treatment is shaped entirely by your needs — not a diagnosis code or a coverage limit. You care is handled with complete discretion.
